Some articles really don’t require a whole slew of words to convey a point. This is one of them. Behold, the upcoming Nissan Murano… CrossCabrio.

You see, what we’ve got here is, uhh… Well, it looks like someone took a Nissan Murano, hacked two of the doors off, and gave it a drop top. About this strange creation, Nissan has to say the following:

“The world’s first all-wheel drive crossover convertible, delivers the open-air exhilaration of a convertible while extending the versatility of the Murano in exciting new ways. With room for four adults, space for golf bags or luggage (even with the top down), and a premium level interior, the Murano CrossCabriolet represents a breakthrough in concept and design. Set to go on sale in early 2011.”

Well, of course. Why didn’t I think of that? A two-door convertible SUV. It’ll handle like a sports car… well, no. It’ll go off-road like a truck! No, clearly not… It’s pretty! Not really… So, what does this thing do? To be honest, I’m not really sure, besides answer a question that no one was asking in the first place. Hey, at least it’s better looking than some of the photoshopped renderings of the drop-top Murano that were floating around. Yuck:

This unique fish-fowl hybrid will be debuting next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Nissan says it’s going on sale early next year. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get to work on my sour cream and bacon ice cream recipe.
